During the social and emotional period we call Adolescence, young people seek to understand their place in society and search for opportunities to contribute to their communities. Continuing to build on their sense of justice and fairness that began to develop in the second plane, younger adolescents (12-15) are naturally drawn to causes that involve high ideals. They prefer to take on projects that require action and believe they can make a positive difference in the world.
