Continued Parent Enrichment: Primary Math and the Road from Concrete to Abstraction

November 14 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Everyone should learn math the Montessori way! Come join the
Primary teachers as they guide you through the unique process of
math acquisition for children ages 3-6. The math curriculum in the
Montessori classroom is laid out from concrete concepts to abstract
concepts. The child learns the processes of math first before he or
she learns facts. Through the application of five main components
(numerical, decimal system, linear counting, math operations and
abstraction) and preparation from Practical Life and Sensorial the
child’s mathematical mind is made.
