The Montessori Academy of Chicago prides itself on building a bridge between home and school. We serve as partners in your child’s education by offering regular communication with teachers and extensive parent educational opportunities, ensuring the needs of the whole child are met.

Parent Involvement

Parents play an integral role in our school community. We seek to provide an activity-based learning environment that mirrors the warmth of the home, while providing educational options that rival colleges. Montessori parents share in the life of the student by attending parent-teacher conferences, committee meetings, and special events.

Classroom observations and discussions with teachers further involve parents in their child’s experience at school. In order to assist our families as partners, the Montessori Academy of Chicago offers regular parent education sessions. Topics include:

  • Positive Discipline
  • Montessori in the Home
  • Montessori Curriculum
  • Family, Life, Social, Emotional, & Moral Development

Volunteer Opportunities

The Academy offers parents a number of volunteer opportunities, including: parent workdays, chaperoning class outings, volunteering at social functions throughout the year, and more. Interested parents can also join the Friends of Montessori Academy of Chicago in their support of the school’s continued growth.
